The Mission Statement of Lions Clubs International: ![]() Forth coming Events
RECENT EVENTS Senior Citizens Picnic 2012 ![]() Sunday 13th May at 9am 5 coaches left Hornsea and surrounding Villages for our annual Picnic. This year we did something a little different as a direct result of an on the bus survey ..last year. At about 10:30 we arrived at our first stop, a visit to Eden Camp. A Top Yorkshire Tourist attraction. Where of our group of nearly 240 enjoyed a trip down memory lane and the nostalgia of the second world war...and enjoying a picnic lunch either in the mess halls or out in the open at the picnic benches and tables.Under the wings of a doodle-bug and sounds of an air-raid.Bit of a chilly day but nice in the sun and NO Rain!!! Many were entertained in the Music Hall Hut with a bit of a sing-a long conducted by the Puppets on stage.Others the bowls of a U-Boat reminded them of the dark days of the war, whilst the "Land Girls" amongst us remembered the fun of hay making! We left Eden Camp about 13:45 and headed off, for a stop over at Thornton-Le-Dale (always a favourite destination) for afternoon Tea and Cakes, Icecream or naughty Home-made Chocolates, before winding our way back home. A game of Bingo on the way out and way back, a Raffle, and Picnic Lunch ,and Lions with their unique brand of Entertainment. All for the princely booking Fee of £2 Here a Group from Coach A at Thornton-Le-Dale.
